Well yesterday was the Class 37 Farewell tour by Northern on the Cumbria Coast. I simply had to go and get some snaps.
Went to Barrow where i boarded the 0918 to St Bees. My plan had to been to then walk to Nethertown for a few photo's of the Class 37 going through the station from the hill, as i have done in the past. Unfortunate 156480 had other ideas. The engine on the rear carriage failed reducing the speed. 25 min late into St Bees left me with not enough time to do the walk. Quick look on Google Maps and i located a nearer vantage point.
After some photo's (I use the word some lightly) I walked along the beach to Nethertown where i got some shots of the Class 37 on it's way back to Carlisle.
I then took the gentle 35 min stroll along some country lanes to Braystones, a station that until yesterday had eluded me. Very similar to Nethertown station, just a few more houses.
Up to date addition to the list:
No. 458: Braystones
Until next time :-)
